The facts of Lil Tay’s death hoax: Was the influencer’s alleged passing staged?

Canadian rapper and influencer Lil Tay surprised the entire world when a message from her Instagram account seemed to confirm both her and her brother’s passing. The next 24 hours were complete chaos that was filled with misinformation and many questions from the media. Finally, Lil Tay was able to recover her Instagram account and she confirmed her death was a hoax. Amid her current legal issues with her biological father, Lil Tay wasn’t able to offer any more details about what happened. But to our understanding, there is an ongoing battle in wich she and her brother are attempting to recover all of her social media accounts and her likeness.

How did Lil Tay become famous?

Famously known as the world’s youngers flexer, Lil Tay rose to fame by showing off luxurious lifestyles through her videos. Given that her mother was areal estate agent, she was able to have access to excusive homes and appartments in the Vancouver area. Also, she was often given permission to film inside luxury cars and claim many of these items as her own. When she became a viral sensation, Lil Tay was only 9 years of age. Suddenly, Lil Tay was completely gone from the spotlight and we didn’t know much about her until this past week. Details remain difficult to confirm but we do know Lil Tay is alive and her brother is okay as well.

Her biological fathe is Vancouver lawyer Christopher John Hope, he was accused by Tay of abusive behavior against her that included physical violence. At the time, Hope himself denied these allegations and only claimed he didn’t want his daughter to curse on videos and demanded 25% of her entire gross earnings to a trust fund dedicated to the child. Also, Hope allegedly wanted there to be a structure in her operation and management of her public image. Hope also alleged that Lil Tay’s brother Jason, was the one responsible for taking control of her social media accounts. Once some time has passed, we will know who is to blame for Lil Tay’s death hoax.
